What makes an innovation-led business ready for investor consideration?
The commercial, financial and strategic evidence that matters as a business moves from innovation funding towards private investment.
Inventya connects investors with qualified innovation-led businesses emerging from our programmes, advisory work and wider ecosystem — with free access to selected opportunities through the Inventya Investor Portal.
Inventya works with innovation-led businesses throughout their growth journey — from grant funding and technical development through market validation, commercialisation, investment readiness and scale.
This gives us visibility of companies before and during the point at which external investment becomes relevant.
Our pipeline is built through Inventya's innovation and growth programmes, corporate finance work, commercialisation support and wider network of businesses, investors and innovation partners. This helps us identify companies as they develop and recognise those approaching an appropriate point for external investment.
Where we have worked directly with a company, we can also bring greater context to the opportunity — understanding the progress behind the investment materials, the financing journey and the commercial or technical milestones the business is working towards.
Selected businesses can then progress into our qualified investor pipeline and be made available to registered investors through the Inventya Investor Portal.

Innovation-led businesses do not always follow a conventional fundraising path.
Many develop significant technology through R&D and grant funding before seeking institutional capital. Others need to validate a market, secure customers, reach a technical or regulatory milestone or strengthen their financial proposition before private investment becomes appropriate.
Inventya works across these stages.
Our teams support innovation-led companies with investment readiness, financial modelling, market validation, commercialisation and blended-finance strategy. This helps us understand how an investment fits within the wider development of the business — and what the proposed capital is intended to achieve.
We use that insight to identify companies approaching an appropriate stage for investor engagement, qualify selected opportunities and connect them with investors whose mandate and interests align.
Registered investors can access these opportunities free through the Inventya Investor Portal.

Inventya was selected to develop the investment-readiness methodology for a pilot connecting Innovate UK-supported businesses with the Floww investment platform.
Our role included developing the criteria used to assess whether grant-funded businesses were approaching an appropriate point for private investment and identifying the initial businesses for the programme.
The methodology drew on Inventya's wider experience in commercialisation, financial planning, fundraising and innovation finance — looking beyond whether a business was simply seeking capital to understand whether the commercial, financial and strategic foundations were in place for meaningful investor engagement.
That same thinking informs our wider approach to deal flow today: identifying businesses as they develop, understanding the journey behind the raise and bringing forward selected opportunities when investor engagement becomes appropriate.
